Kylie Bax Poros joins fashionistas at Riccarton

All roads lead to Riccarton Park Racecourse this Saturday 16 November when the 3200 metre Christchurch Casino New Zealand Cup will be run for the 150th time.

Over 20,000 punters will be trackside for this historic race. Amongst those in the crowd this year will be former supermodel Kylie Bax Poros.

Following a stellar international modelling career, Kylie has returned home with her husband, renowned fashion photographer Spiros Poros, to set up a boutique stud operation in Cambridge.

Kylie’s passion for racing has seen her named New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing’s (NZTR) ambassador: “It’s been a part of my life since I was a little girl and I’m excited about showing a new generation of New Zealanders just how special it is.”

Kylie will be keeping one eye on the action on the field and another on the Fashion in the Field competition. One of the highlights of the day, this popular competition offers fashionistas a chance to showcase their style.

Punters at this year’s event can expect to see a little magic amongst the fashions. Renowned Christchurch costume designer Jenny Gillies has been commissioned to create a costume for the history day.

“It will be beautiful, colourful, fun with a nod to fashion and reflect the beauty of the grounds and gardens at Riccarton Park”.
