Four and five year-old horses have accounted for 86 Cup winners between them. They are locked on 43 winners each. There are just two four year-olds and eight five year-olds this year, with 14 runners aged seven or over. If Americain, or any other eight year-old, wins the Cup he will be the first to do so since 1938.
