New Zealand’s Racing HeartThe New Zealand racing industry makes a major contribution to the country's economy and is an important part of our heritage and psyche. It is an industry dear to the hearts of tens of thousands of New Zealanders. More than 52,000 Kiwis are actively involved in racing in New Zealand, with the industry contributing more than $1.6 billion to the country's economy. Racing employs almost 17,000 people in fulltime positions and racing facilities are used by hundreds of community groups every year.
