Kids Go Racing will be at all the events with a great range of games for under 12’s, including colouring-in competitions, goodie bags, the Sugar-Cube Relay, Pin The Tail on the Horse and heaps more.
Kids will even have the chance to meet Hopples or Stirrup, our friendly horse mascots!

If you're in Otago for Christmas, Interislander Summer Festival Wingatui Races is the place to be on Boxing Day. Rally your family and friends, pack up the Christmas leftovers and head out to Wingatui Racecourse for a day of thrilling racing action, atmosphere and free kids entertainment under the blue Otago skies.

Our magician Vince, aka Pop Magic is coming all the way from Perth, Australia! He will provide 3 hours of entertainment all over the place on-course throughout the afternoon, as well as a ½ hour magic show!
The Kidz Kartz team Kidz Kartz Otago is quite new to the racing Scene. Kidz Kartz started in the Auckland region and now has clubs all throughout New Zealand. It is for kids 10 years and under. We are really excited to have them on-course at Wingatui on Boxing Day!
Bart from Dunedin Pony Parties will be on-course for the youngsters to have a lead around. Bart is a 95cm high miniature pony who seems to think he is a reindeer at Christmas Time, so he dresses accordingly!
Elizabeth from Fun Faces Face Painting will be on-course to add sparkle and fun to the afternoon, with professional face painting and glitter tattoos.
Outback Entertainment will be on-course with bouncy castles and little go-carts.
The NZ Racing Board will host the annual Interislander Summer Festival competitions and entertainment!
The day will once again feature the Childrens Fashions on the Field event, which will have a category for Under 12’s and a category for Under 6’s. A prize is guaranteed for all entrants!
This year we will host the first ever "Childrens Unwanted Christmas Present Swap" where children can bring their worst present and swap it for another!
We will have live music on-course, as well as a large variety of food vendors.
$10 per ticket Punters Club to run from Race 3 through to the last.
Fashion Event Information:
